Bits of bliss: Food trip! The ultimate taste test 3.0
We were fortunate enough to be included in the list for Our Awesome Planet's Ultimate Food Taste Test 3.0.
This being our first taste test event, we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by mouth-watering concoctions, which included the following:
Callos. Various meatloafs. Cookie monster cheesecake. Avocado Sansrival. 3 kinds of lechon. Mangoes and cream cupcakes. Homemade jams (Strawberry mint, Mango ginger, etc.), Yummy flavored teas and jelly drinks from Kimco (guava tea and blackcurrant, among others, see above photo).
Chocolate-covered bacon. Bacon and potato chowder, clam chowder. Happy cream puffs. Chicago-style popcorn. There are other yummy food items that I wasn't able to taste since at the end we were too full to go on.
My favorites:
♥♥♥ Tina Raine's savory meat pies-- Creamy cheese and bacon, with various herbs hidden inside a feathery, flaky crust. Unforgettable.
♥♥♥ El Kapitan's teh tarik-- Perfectly blended and perfect with the assorted pastries we sampled.
♥♥♥ Caramel crisp (Sorry, we forgot from where)-- Luscious shots of not-too-sweet caramel, with surprising crispy parts and moist bread? Yum.
♥♥♥ Wagyu beef from Dulcelli(?)-- Tender, tasty, meaty goodness.
The weather cooperated. Yay! :)
Getting ready to answer the survey.
Eating in front of The Last Supper mural.
Chocolate-covered bacon.
Chicken-stuffed lechon. There were 3 kinds to choose from. The back of my neck kind of hurt just seeing them. But they were so gooOOood.
Happy vibes from the Happy Cream Puff stall. I've already professed my love for HPC at a post before, this stall makes me love them even more. :)
Avocado sansrival. Like Avocado ice-cream, with sansrival bits. Would be perfect ice-cold, I think. Maybe make it like an ice-cream cake?
A lechon manok wrap. They also had a thai version and a Caesar version.
Vegetarian empanada and caramel cake.
Callos.
Cookie monster cheesecake.
We weren't able to take more photos since we were too busy stuffing our faces. :) After the event we were promptly given Yummy and Real Living magazines. Thanks to Anton and Rache for making this scrumptious event possible. AWESOME!
Ended up at Fully Booked after, where we drooled over tres pricey notebooks (sob Moleskines and 4 in ones) and where I tried to speedread 5 FLB books that I didn't have cash to buy. Liked "Blood Roses", a collection of short stories, the most. Methinks FLB should stick to writing short stories, but then maybe that's just me. Or maybe I outgrew Miss FLB. Which makes me a bit sad. But I was glad to browse the ya section, one of my faves, where I met a Buffy/Veronica Mars-like character (which I will save up for) and where an odd and funny book told us not to read it, but we still did.
Headed to Market! Market! after for more face-stuffage, which included:
Cheesy frankfurter sandwich. Coke. Takoyaki balls. Razon's halo-halo.
Also took home Buddy's pancit lucban for dinner, to be eaten with pinakurat vinegar. (Thank you Nayns for introducing us to heaven in a bottle). :) I love pms-laden foodtrips.
I love how my appetite is enhanced when I'm pms-ing. It's a bit of trouble, budget-wise, but everything seems so delicious!
What food items do you crave when you're pms-ing/pseudo-pms-ing? :)
